The answer is NO.
East Texas Military Families and Friends is a support network
conceived by family members of military service men and women
from East Texas serving their country. This organization
has been founded to assist and provide moral support to these
men and women, to provide a support system to their families
during their deployment, and to offer assistance when needed.
While we are not an official military site
or organization, wish to honor all men and women serving this
country and offer our support and sincere appreciate to their

How do I understand military time?
My church, school, company, etc. would like to send care
packages to the troops. How do we send them?
The East Texas Military Families and Friends organizing drives
throughout the year to send care packages to troops. We
invite and encourage you to join us. If you would like to
organize your own drive we will be happy to assist.
It is suggested that more than about 5 boxes be sent to any
single address at one time. Most units simply can't handle
a deluge of packages, and it is especially hard on the soldiers
to hand out more than this at a time. Remember, they left
their car at home. In a lot of cases, the soldiers may
have to walk a mile or more to get their mail.
If you have a really large effort, spread out shipping over
about 5-7 days at a time, about 5 packages to each address.
There may be specific restrictions as to what can be sent to
members of the military at their deployed address.
For specific restrictions and mailing
rates to an APO/FPO you maycall 1-800-ASK-USPS, consult your
local Post Office™, or phone the Military Postal Service Agency
at 1-800-810-6098.
The following will give you an overview:
- Obscene articles (prints, paintings, cards, films,
videotapes, etc).
- Firearms. (no kidding...)
- Any matter depicting nude or semi nude persons,
pornographic or sexual items,
or non authorized political materials.
- Bulk quantities of religious materials contrary to the
Islamic faith.
Items for the personal use of the addressee are permissible.
- Pork or pork by-products.
Check the
USPS site for exact information.

What can I do or send to our East Texas troops to show my
support?
The most important thing is show them your
SUPPORT! Remember what counts most is the morale of the
Soldier. A Soldier wants and needs to know that he/she has
the support of folks back home.
This site is not about asking anyone to
spend a bunch of money, it's about showing support to our
military men and women serving their country and defending our
freedom.
Care packages are always appreciated by
all Soldiers, regardless of what they receive. Keep in
mind where they are, the climate, etc. Check with your
service man/woman what they may need or like.
Remember, ALL service men and women are
instructed to not eat homemade snacks, cookies, etc. unless they
personally know the person sending them. They are
instructed to throw them away. This is for their security
of course. So make sure your "World Famous Cookies" that
you are sending are addressed and directed to someone that you
know and that knows you.
We have listed many web links on Links
Page that may further assist with sending packages overseas.
If we can assist or help further, please do not hesitate to
check our Contact Page on this site and let us know. If we
don't have an answer to your questions, we'll find someone who
does.
Remember....this is YOUR support network.
I have posted a message on the Guest Book page. Why, after
I refresh as instructed, doesn't my message does not appear?

inappropriate to this site by people and/or companies, all
